When we decided to tear down our Rossmoor house and build our dream home, a friend recommended Maverick Construction as our general contractor. We were immediately impressed with Nathan’s attitude and professionalism. Throughout the year-long process of design and construction, he was quick to return our phone calls and text messages, make recommendations and offer ideas (when requested), and willing to admit when he needed to gather more information and get back to us. Nathan kept us organized and timely in our decision- making so we didn’t have to make any rushed choices.
As the building progressed, we appreciated the attention to detail that he and his subcontractors consistently demonstrated. The architect that Nathan recommended managed to give our large home the cozy, welcoming feel we desired while adding the “wow factors” that impresses everyone. Guests in our home consistently comment about the quality and craftsmanship of our beautiful woodwork, our perfect stone and tile, and the upscale lighting and hardscape.
It’s common to hear people talk about remodeling projects costing far more than the anticipated amount. Nathan’s multi-page contract contained a line item bid that was easy to understand. He outlined each subcontractor’s prices as well as the allotments we were given for carpet, stone, cabinets, etc, and he was willing to answer any question we had regarding the charges. Using this system, we were able to keep track of the money and had no surprise costs… a remarkable feat!
Nathan’s own crew of workers were friendly faces during a stressful time for us. They were always ready to give e3ncouraging comments about the progress and many times stopped working to unload our personal items from our car. Everyone who worked on our house, from the most skilled artist to the commonest laborer, reflected the attitude that Nathan exudes: Maverick Construction just doesn’t build houses, they help people build a home to hold their family’s memories.
